Friends, The election season for 2014 is in full force and we will have many decisions to make. We will be voting for Governor, County Executive and County Commissioner. We will also be voting for a new State Senator and State Representative. Senator Anderson has completed the maximum number of years he can serve in that position and is not eligible to seek re-election. Representative Cavanagh has chosen to seek election as County Executive. Tomorrow is the filing deadline and the fields for open seats are crowded; that is a good thing! To be successful in those “local” campaigns, a candidate must be knowledgeable, passionate, and willing to put all else aside to run, win and serve. I am quite honored to have been asked to serve you in a different capacity and I gave tremendous consideration to all of the options. It all boiled down to this, my passion is local. My ability and willingness to serve you is best kept right here in Redford Township! My decision, while very difficult, was made so much easier when I met with the other candidates. We have excellent options and tonight, I am happing to share my endorsements of three candidates: County Commissioner Diane Webb. State Senator David Knezek and State Representative Jay Johnson. Losing Trustee Johnson will be a hit to the Board of Trustees but will be a huge win for us in Lansing. As I continue my work as Redford Township Supervisor, I again ask that you work with me. Help me to help you ~ in doing so we will help each other and Build a Better Redford!
