Friends and Family, Over the past few weeks there have been growing concerns for Coach Rada EL Tatawy’s health. On behalf of his family, we regret to inform everyone that after a long fought battle, Coach Rada slipped away from us last night. His passing was as peaceful as any son could have hoped for. He was surrounded by his wife and children as per his request. For many, this may come as a shock. Coach Rada’s wishes were very explicit in that the situation be handled with the utmost most privacy and discretion. In life, Rada never turned from a challenge. He met his illness with the same stoic courage that was his signature. Despite a grim outlook, Coach Rada pushed on surpassing all odds. Just as he approached all obstacles in his life, whether it be competing at the highest levels of athletics, or in raising his five children, he devoted himself completely to the challenge in front of him. He eliminated all unnecessary distractions and concentrated his efforts to the task at hand. Unfortunately this meant keeping even his closest of family and friends in the dark. Rada met his end as a worthy opponent. Trust that everything that could have been done, was. Please help us honor our father and his wishes by celebrating his life and how he touched yours. If Coach Rada was rich in anything, it was in the people that loved him.
