Friends: meet Kipu (kee-poo), a brown tiger-tabby about 1-2 years old. After her life on the mean streets of STL, she rather unexpectedly has come into my life and is now the 3rd (and final, I swear it, I SWEAR it) cat in my life, in addition to Kali and Karma (who arent that psyched about the developments but have been handling it with some grace and civility so far). Kipu is a rescue kitty from North STL. I volunteered to be the pickup from her concrete alley space last Sunday and foster for her for one or two days until one of the rescue groups could get her. But after about 5 minutes with her I decided to keep her. So that means Im an utter failure at cat fostering. Next time, I think I will stick to donations to the no-kill shelters and rescue groups! Okay, let the cat-lady jokes begin…BTW Kipu means happy in Gyalsumdo (Tibetan, with high tone). In Kyirong the velar is more of a palatal, so more [cipo] also high tone. In Written Tibetan etymology it is skyid po. Simultaneously pretentious and cute!
