From August 1941 to April 1945, hundreds of thousands of Serbs, - TopicsExpress

From August 1941 to April 1945, hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, and Romas, as well as anti-fascists of many nationalities, were murdered at the death camp known as Jasenovac. Estimates of the total numbers of men, women and children killed there range from 300,000 to 700,000. And yet, despite the scale of the crimes committed there, most of the world has never heard of Jasenovac. The video is available below. Quite heavy-going but worth viewing as a reminder of crimes past & a reminder that not just Germans were fascists. Alas some of the fascists who participated in these atrocities made their way to Australia where they continued with their fascist ways. The following is excerpted from the blogpost “The Murphy Raid - Thoughts on security, terrorism and human rights, with a focus on Australia. Authored by Andrew Zammit”:- “The Yugoslav Prime Minister (Tito) was due to visit Australia and there were concerns that local Ustasha groups were planning to assassinate him. The Ustasha was a Croatian fascist movement that had been allied with Germany in World War Two and had active networks in Australia. Dreaming of overthrowing Tito’s communist regime, Ustasha supporters bombed Yugoslav diplomatic buildings and social clubs throughout Australia in the 1960s and 70s. In 1962 and 1973 they launched unsuccessful military raids into Yugoslavia.” The video is at:- https://youtube/watch?v=513VOo5P63Y
