From Dan Barry, Racine, a lifelong Republican: "It seems evident to me we should copy the Iowa redistricting model in Wisconsin. Both major parties are guilty of abusing the privilege enjoyed when they have each controlled the redistricting process. The time and money wasted on the current partisan system is unconscionable and the results generally don’t reflect the true make-up of the electorate. How could reasonable people not want to move from opacity to transparency, at less cost, and with a better result? That two unreasonable people, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, would react negatively and arrogantly simply reinforces my belief."
