From; Dan Brown on the Village Voice; Good morning Bellaire, Ohio and a hearty QUACK to you (since it is duck weather), Monday is always rough, so get out of bed and get ready for your day. Remember to ALWAYS question everything, keep an open mind and remain calm, cool and collected when dealing with information. EVERYTHING is not always as it seems, so watch and question everyone (including myself). Check our facts, check our opinions and especially CHECK THE ACTIONS OF OUR LEADERSHIP. If they say they are your friend, check their actions and see if they really are, if you think they are your enemy, check that as well. NOTHING is what it seems, so watch, listen, read and remember this; SOME PEOPLE ARE GETTING PAID, some are not. Some people have power, others do not. SOME PEOPLE have an agenda while others have just a love for the village of Bellaire, Ohio. In closing I also want to put this out there; SOME HAVE THINGS IN THEIR PAST THAT THEY ARE NOT PROUD OF, while others just believe that the past is the past. You decide. And remember this about me, I call myself a political blogger, that means that I am oober critical of people who are elected officials PAST AND PRESENT. Do you know why? Since they are the true source of the decisions made that have thrown Bellaire under the bus, you do not believe me? LOOK AROUND. What is missing? What is gone, never to return? What infrastructure was built that is still in use today (and in good working condition)? Are you better off in 2014 then you were in 2004, 1994, 1984, 1974, etc... If you are saying yes, I am better off, then ask why as well. Can that better off be better by embracing change? What if, 4 years ago (when the powers that be) created a plan to embrace the Oil and Gas industrys business model (not drilling, but the accessory businesses that come with it), what if they had an inkling of what was coming, and they had made a plan to fill the industrial park with shipping companies, accessory companies, supply companies and machine shops? What if there was someone there who was yelling to the sky saying just that? What would Bellaire look like now with, oh lets say for random numbers here, another $36,000 per quarter in extra revenue from the 1% of added income + another $6000.00+ per month in revenue from rentals (including a 4 acre parcel that was sold for peanuts under a special deal which, as I am told netted the buyer a cool $280,000+ in profit)...hmm, what if? Well Bellaire, you just keep thinking, questioning and maybe, just maybe the true scoundrels will show themselves to you, and you will be as TICKED OFF as I am some days.
