From Mkweli Johnson The afrikan centered indigenous name as referred to in my tradition/culture (Nguni) is Kwantu and this term by extension refers to the entire afrikan continent. Once again the Nguni term (prefix) Kwa means place of/ kingdom of / home of, the ntu from the name Kwa-ntu is taken from Bantu, Bantu is the plural of Muntu, Ba means children of, thus Bantu means children of NTU. NTU is the root of the vibrational energy of creation this divine Spirit is the ancient Nubian Goddess NUT. The term Bantu refers to and reminds us of our divine origin. U Muntu (singular) is the original human being, the divine character, one who has Ubuntu (set of values that elevate you to a state of godhood). A great misconception promoted in western anthropology is that ‘Bantu is a general label for a set of ethnic groups in Southern Afrika who are speakers of the Bantu languages’; this is absolutely inaccurate, Europeans cannot know who or what a Muntu or Bantu is! They can only speculate and conceptualize; one has to be UMuntu in order to fully understand this concept. By proper definition Bantu refers to all black people, ubuntu is inherent in all of us; we are born with this concept. The term Kwantu when translated to English would mean: Home of the children of the great Spirit (NTU) (Blackman land). The corruption of place names in not a recent phenomenon, it can be traced back thousands of years to ancient black civilizations, in ancient Khamet the city sacred to the Diety Ptah – (Men Nefer) was corrupted to Memphis, the city of Gebtu was corrupted to Coptos and this trend applies to many other places around the world wherever and when ever we came into contact with white people. A name is not just a name, there is more to a name, a name represents a peoples’ authority, worldview and culture. The Afrikan naming/renaming of places is a crucial aspect of our civilization and cultural restoration process. The situation in so-called South Africa reflects the reality that our country and the rest of the continent still have a long way to go towards full and true independence.
