From OUR candidate, OUR Marine, OUR future Judge, Michael L Wassell-- I slung my M-16 over my shoulder with the pledge that I would sacrifice my life if necessary for my country. I gave the people of this country a guarantee that I would fight to my last breath for the freedom that this country stands for. As your candidate for Henry County Judge I make another pledge, a guarantee to each and every citizen, that I will always be fair, unbiased, and impartial in my courtroom. Henry County voters can trust that I will stand by this guarantee. I guarantee to every citizen that would come before me as a judge that there will be total impartiality, no favoritism, and a completely unbiased perspective taking only into account the facts of the case at hand. No friend, relative, former attorneys who have worked directly with me, members of organizations that publicly endorse my candidacy, or those who were on my committee will ever be on the safe side of a case in my courtroom. Thats just not right, fair, and is far from the justice we seek in our courtrooms, indeed it is its opposite. No one should feel that the other party or their attorneys has my ear any better than they do themselves or that the other side has a special position to influence me. I will recuse myself and there will never be a reason to question my impartiality or judgment. As YOUR judge in Henry County I will promote the public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary, as it was envisioned by our founding fathers. There will never even be the faintest appearance of impropriety in any case that comes before me, as YOUR judge. Thank you.
