From Pat Maykuth on 11/11/13: Amy is moving closer to leaving Sheperd Center and on to Pathways outpatient facility. Greg & family were at home tonight so I signed Amy out to return a book, take a walk along rush hour Peachtree Street and be back for supper. Library was closed so took the book for a walk. Amy had good pace, recognized the hills and uneven footing. Didnt leave me in the dust, but a real pace. As we passed by the pool table on the way back through the garden, Amy looked at her watch, smiled and noddded & we had a game. She beat me at pool (Andy Im in good company). She sunk the 8 ball & I still had one left on the table... We signed back in ~ 2 minutes late for 5:30 supper. Amy has now won her first two recovery pool games... and no one was giving her anything. Amys speech is steadily improving, motion getting stronger and insightful humor always accessible. Yeah Amy, Yeah tribe, yeah all the fantastic staff at Sheperd.
