From Quester Jill Vance: As I read through Psalm 148 today, I am reminded of the many reasons I have to praise God. As I reflect on who I am, I realize how often I can be a selfish jerk. As I look at my family history, I see that it’s not free of pain and brokenness. As I look at the history of this country, I am reminded how often success is built on war and oppression of the weak. Yet, after all of this, God still loves me. He still loves you. He loves us in the midst of our brokenness. To me, this leaves no doubt as to the many reasons I should be lifting up my praise to him. Even angels know the praise that is due our God and King. Today I will reflect on the many ways that God’s creation praises him: the heavens, sun and moon, shining stars, waters above the skies, great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightening and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds, mountains and all the hills, fruit trees and all the cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds, “kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all the rulers on earth, young men and maidens, old men and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.” (vs.11-13). #QuestOnPsalms
