From Sister Debbie Blow: I write to ask for your prayers this morning..... I am writing to relay a message we got a little bit ago. Nicaragua had two more earthquakes during the night (Monday AM Eastern time). Ive heard from two of our contacts and there is also more news on the internet. The lastest ones were between 5.6 and 5.9... plus hundreds of tremors the entire night once again. One was very close to our facility once again. We do not have any updated reports regarding our facility except to say that the locals are completely exhausted because theyve had 5 days of at least 5 very large earthquakes and thousands of tremors during that time frame as well. Most are either exhausted, caring for their loved ones or assessing their own situations. Many are sleeping outside and/or not leaving their humble surroundings because they wish to stay with loved ones, or as stated previously, are exhausted. Thank God, we have not heard of any major human injuries, but getting updated information regarding the Mission site remains secondary to the health and safety concerns of all our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua. I will advise when we have something more to share. However, there is NO DOUBT that our Nicaraguan brothers and sisters, who are in the midst of Holy Week like the rest of us, are in the midst of one more crucifixion walk in their own lives. For reasons unknown to most of us, they continue to be the victims of so much devastation, more than 125 major natural disasters during the past 100 years and all the lasting effects that poverty and destruction wreak on the humble poor. So, I ask you to carry our Nica brothers and sisters in your prayers this week.
