From a distance you can tell I was in an exams hall crossing my T-s and dotting my I-s. From a distance you can imagine that my heart beats with assorted memories thinking about my past, evaluating my preset and imagining my future. From a distance you can also tell that there is a light at the end of the tunnel after several years of pain, struggle and tribulations since I was admitted at Fourah Bay College, University of Serra Leone. YES! I can tell with a heavy heart that the precious soles of my dear father, lovely mother and much treasured sister who died in an adventurous mission in the Gambia will rest in peace having realized that what they prayed for, scarified for and even fought at emotional levels for has joined the line of history this very minute. You guys stood for the beauty of hope for this Family. Thanks for your unbending wheel and trust in me. That said. My family is not reach nor is it a middle income one, but they give me education, they give me love and they give me hope. “Issa when you have a gift you should always learn to share it” they always tell me. This I know is evident on the people I met in the not too distant past. Honestly, the last few years have witnessed the most worrisome period in my academic journey since my late grant mother put up the first step to get me admitted at the Kankalay Islamic Primary School, Kissy over fifteen years ago. I hope for a complete change anyway. Look, I have got my experiences (GOOD and BAD) at the University which I hope to live for and achieve and if needs be it is an ideal for which I am prepared to undergo again. Thus, it is with a deep thought of shared purpose and a complete grip of emotions that I painstakingly conjured this message. Dear Lord God, I thank you for helping me completing my final semester exam which was a partial fulfilment for the award of a BA with Hons in Mass Communication. First it was Diploma (Distinction) in Mass Communication and now a potential BA Hons holder in Mass Communication and nobody knows what will follow after this. It could be a Masters in Mass Communication or it could be in other discipline. I don’t know yet. Special thank you to my parents, Mr and Mrs Bangura particularly my mums who helped my late father to support my education through their petty trading till his painful death nine (9) years ago precisely on the 10TH October 2005. It was in the month of Ramadan. I remember that I cried when I received my Acceptance of Offer Letter to read Mass Communication at Fourah Bay College few years ago. As I type this thank you message again form Kingtom, I almost cried again. Thanks to my entire family especially to my sister Hawa Bangura without whom this journey would have not been possible. Thanks to the Mass Communication Department for making me a well trained and qualified mediated communicator and a big thank you to all my friends who supported me in one way or the other to make his mission complete. From me to you, “the best is yet to come.” Look out for: THE STORY YOU DON’T KNOW. It is my reflection story. It is coming soon. Thank you very much...
