From a fellow warrior: Any advice ? I have been married to my husband for 12 years now. He is a drug user and he has physically and mentally abused me. I have left him several times but went back. This last time I went back and there was an incident my parents called cps. Cps asked he leave the home until further notice and I call the police if He showed up. I did and they still called telling me I had to voluntarily take them to my parents until I got a protective order. I did that and I got a no contact order and I started going to group sessions at women in need. I also got a home security system installed and filed for divorce. My issue is that my parents seem to think I have no rights or custody of my children. I also found out that they have hired a lawyer to try to get custody of my boys. Cps says they wont get involved with that but my dad says thats not the story they give him. I feel like Im being bullied and none of this is court ordered. Also Im not the one they wanted the kids away from its their father. So why am I having to be punished. My kids were never physically harmed. Emotionally, yes. I can see that now. But Ive done everything and more that theyve asked me to. I feel like cps is lying to me and telling my parents something else. The investigation has actually been closed and passed on to family based services. Im just hurting, alone, helpless, and scared. I want to keep doing what they ask of me but Im worried Im going to lose my kids in the process to my parents. The longer They have them to more it helps their case. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
