From a friend of a friend ~ PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TO KEEP LIVE MUSICIANS ON DWTS ~ Dear Friends and Family, By now you may have heard that ABCs Dancing With The Stars has fired the live band that has been with the show from day one. I received the following message from my good friend and studio trumpet player and lead trumpet on DWTS Rick Baptist: Last night the Harold Wheeler Orchestra and Singers received an email from Harold informing us that after 17 seasons, Disney/ABCs Dancing With The Stars has replaced the orchestra and singers with records and a small electronic band. Allegedly, this was done to attract a younger demographic. If you are concerned about the demise of LIVE music on TV, please SHARE this post and forward your concerns/opinions to: Candice.A.Ashton@abc She is with Disney/ABC entertainment. I have written my email telling Ms. Ashton how I feel about their decision to eliminate the orchestra on DWTS. I encourage each of you to please do that same and to tell your friends! This single action by Disney/ABC has placed over 30 musicians, singers, music copyists and arrangers out of work. If enough people email Ms. Ashton telling her that this is a very bad decision and say that you will never watch DWTS again, Disney/ABC could very possibly reverse their horrible decision and reinstate the orchestra on DWTS. Thank you for your time.
