From a member: Help please! I know no one can diagnose my spouse but I just wanted opinions. I am the spouse (22 yrs) of active military soldier thats been to combat several times. He has moved to new duty station without family. He told me was broken and needed to fix himself, was numb, and could not take care of family. I go to therapy because of the separation. Today the therapist informed me that she is not convinced he has ptsd because he does not have nightmares and he is not hyper-viligant. She thinks perhaps its just depression and anxiety. Can you have Ptsd without those two things? She tells me you have those two things for PTSD. Hopefully I will learn one day once he seeks treatment. He went to the therapist once. His symptoms are depression, anxiety, anger outbursts, emotional numbness, loss of faith, hates crowds, and trouble sleeping mainly. Its only past couple of years I started seeing signs, however I thought it was work stress. I Cannot help but wonder.
