From a member of Kenneth Jrs. family: I maybe stepping over the line here but my granddaughter Sarah was just threaten by OCS because of news media of her little brother that was airlifted yesterday and is now in a induced coma and on a respriator due to his choking, she was told that she was committing fraud and using the situation to their benefit by accepting money donation and food donation because little Kenneth is still a ward of the state. Sarah never asked for donations nor did she ever ask for food. All they asked for was prayers for healing. The family is going through a horrible time right now and staying by the little guy bedside hoping he will come out of this nightmare and be a normal little boy, which by the way the drs are telling my family that they feel he may have brain damage if he surives due to the lack of air. the family is not working right now so they can stay by his bedside. Anyway she was told to tell everyone who posted for prayers for the child and family to remove any such media and to let everyone know not to donate anything. Reporter Mike Welands response: If they continue to be harassed, please let me know. Ive spoken with Catherine and chatted with Sarah, and all theyve done is answer questions from the press. Im certain the case worker has not experienced a pissed off press (forgive the language), but if she keeps it up, she will, unless her superiors rein her in. Like all, Kenneths family has a constitutional right to a free press, which includes the right to talk to reporters if they so choose.
