From a member: so I first want to apologize for this going In so many directions at once my mind is running again. Today was my C&P appt for PTSD; which over all went okay I guess. Im an OIF vet and a marine. I changed when I got back and have lot of random symptoms that feed off of each other. I just want answers and want to feel better, but all the doctors I have talked to seem to be at a loss. Im small and have always been small. Im 55 and weigh 96lbs. The thing I struggle with the most is feeling tired all the time. I have failed glucose tolerance test and was told Im hypoglycemic. My stomach slowly stopped absorbing B12; so I have to get monthly shots most likely for the rest of my life. I have random dizzy spells which sometimes is accompanied with nausea. Sometimes my thyroid produces too much hormones and goes hyper. To top it off I suffer with a form of only what I can guess as survivors guilt. When I was over in Iraq I was a prison guard and the whole time we had only 1 female prisoner. She was 16 and was rounded up by the Iraqi police for being out after curfew. She was leaving home to get eloped. I had to hand her over to her father to get executed for her crimes. To this day, 8 years later, I can still feel the event. I can feel her nails in my right arm as she clung to me out of fear. I can feel her tuck her head behind my shoulder. I tried to save her. I went up through my COC to see if there was any way we could slowly introduce her back into her family and get a social worker involved my request were denied. Over all I feel like I was her protector and that I failed her. I still feel the sting of guilt. I often find myself absorbed in thinking about her. Which used to keep me up at night; paxil has helped with the controlling thoughts; but I still feel tired all the time. Some of my doctors think that the stress I have causes my metabolic symptoms and some think my metabolic issues cause my stress. Overall I am at a loss. I just want to stop feeling tired all the time, and would love any suggestions. or if anyone has the same symptoms and might have a clue to what is going on and what I can do to fix it. Thank you for your time
