From a member: the white dresser is actually a wash stand. The bar that is in the middle would have been for linens to hang, and the surface of the stand would have had a wash basin with a water pitcher. They were generally in bedrooms so people could wash up before bed, or just after waking up. That piece, just from the photos, is likely from the early 1900s, if not the latter part of the 1800s (90s approx.)
