(From a previous post, deleted by request) If a person has extensive practical experience, for example doorwork, security, police work, prison riot squads etc, Knockdown/Sabaki Challenge competitions can be best viewed as a hard and uncompromising sport. The fitness and robustness required will complement their existing skillset without compromising it. For a person whose sole combat experience is based on unlocking the hidden mysteries of 19C kata, Knockdown/Sabaki Challenge competitions can be best viewed as a long needed wake up call. ;)
