From chapter three...The Flight Her surviving passengers were near death and the enviorment around them was hostile. The wind was bitter cold and it cut through them like a knife. It was now time to make a choice. Her passengers needed her there but she knew that their only chance for survival depended upon her alerting local emergency services. It was obvious that if she stayed with them she would be able to do nothing more than hold their hand as they died. It was time for action. She made them as comfortable as she could and then set out in an attempt to locate some form of civilation on that remote mountaintop. Her task would be a difficult one because she had sustained injuries as well but her own medical care would have to wait.
