From my Grandmother Anna Luettie Merritt McClouds family Bible. She and Grandpa lived on Railroad Street in Roachdale. She wrote: In the year 1907, February, was a nice warm month and March was warm and beautiful, so warm the fruit trees all came out and bloomed and many people went fishing and sat on the ground. The apples on the trees were the size of marbles in April. Then it turned cold and snowed, it got so cold that it froze the fruit. Then the last part of April it turned warm again and the fruit trees bloomed again and we had plenty of fruit the same year. I thought that was an interesting tidbit.
