From my book, The Last Apology. The strength of the skepticism - TopicsExpress

From my book, The Last Apology. The strength of the skepticism that came out of the “Enlightment,” in the 17th and 18th centuries, (Why it is called that is ironic.) led to modern days views of Naturalism, which denies any supernatural reality. Agnosticism, which claims we cannot know about God of which Hume and Kant believed. Existentialism, which teaches that the person is solely responsible for giving their lives meaning and living life fully despite all the existential distractions and obstacles like despair, anger, absurdity, , boredom and the potential consequences of the existence or non-existence of God. Soren Kierkegaard (1813 A.D. – 1855 A.D) and Friedrich Nietzche 1844 A.D. to 1900 A.D.) were existentialisms first philosophers. Materialism, which teaches that all that is real is matter, therefore, denying the existence of God. Men like Ludwig Feuerubach (1804 A.D. – 1872 A.D) Freidrich Engels (1820 A.D. – 1895 A.D).father of the communist theory and Karl Marx (1818 A.D. – 1883 A.D.) who developed communism and socialism. In the latter part of the 19th century, Social Darwinianism was ferociously intergraded into every area of academia and propagated by Herbert Spencer (1820 A.D. – 1903) All of these men were atheist who of course denied the existence of God which has led to Nihilism, which teaches that life is without meaning, everything is meaningless. Martin Heidegger (1889 A.D.-1976 A.D.) was a proponent of Nihilism. All of these men and their systems of though, all deny the existence of God and have had a gargantuan influence on western civilizations’ philosophies and world views. These “isms” have had an influence on the most educated to the least, from the rich to poor, to the sophisticated to the social ignorant and pervade the thinking of everyday people all over the world. In the twentieth century an attempt was made by those who deny the existence of God in philosophical thought and world view. It is called “Secular Humanism,” and it dominates the majority of people’s world views. This worldview wants ethics, reason, justice and morality but rejects the existence of the God from which all the desired attributes come. It denies the supernatural and says there is no God. These philosophical and worldview systems that have moved away from affirming the existence of God to denying the existence of God have an all pervasive toehold on the society. The denial for the existence of God that has gained momentum right up until this day has produced a degeneration of social morally that can be found in every area of society, whether in public or institutional education, into popular culture, music, entertainment, including movie after movie, into the political areas and even some of the churches. It is quite apparent that the philosophical worldviews that deny the existence of God have prevailed to a high degree over the last few centuries and the world is certainly no better off as a result. I suggest this fact, the example from the degeneration in history of philosophical and world view thought and the adverse affects it has had on civilization and all world cultures as an evidence for the existence of God.
