From my cousin Jody McDowell: Thank all of yall for your kind words about my uncle Larry. Many of yall know him, some of you dont. You had to have known him to truly appreciate this. Larry was a unique individual. He was the oldest boy in my dads family. Not to disrespect him, but it will help to explain. He had a mental condition that made him sort of like a kid. He couldnt read or write, but he loved to paint pictures of Jesus and Elvis. His artwork was really unique, it was like a Picasso style. Anyway, he was infatuated with Elvis Presley and would often try to sing and dance like him. Uncle Larry had remarkable singing pitch, better than some professionals. He even told my dad that he had to stop singing at church because it was making the women crazy. lol lol. Like I say, to know him is to love him. We could probably all write a book about the simple and unique things he was known for. Most of yall remember him riding his moped all over town with his girlfriend on the back. lol. Knowing how he loved Elvis, uncle Ronnie gave him a cardboard cutout of Elvis a while back. Larry cut the head off of it and made himself a mask out of it. One day when I was there working on his room, he decided to show me his mask, his singing, and his dance moves. I couldnt help but video him. Ive included the link here for yall to see. This will surely bring a smile to your face. I know it does mine. Enjoy. Well miss you uncle Larry. youtu.be/THdOaqaU8Dc
