From our Post Commander: By the time you get this newsletter, I will have been your Commander for a month and I hope that I and the team of officers you elected are meeting and/ or exceeding your expectations. During our July meeting, we discussed many items and put to the floor the items that required a vote. some of the items discussed were: Men’s Auxiliary: If you have not already received it, you should receive an official notification soon that we will be voting during the August 21, 2014 meeting. to approve or reject the establishment of a Men’s Auxiliary, you must be present at the meeting to vote. Post Membership Dues: After much discussion, it was approved to raise our dues to $42.00 per year effective October 1, 2014. Canteen Rules: the members are asked to review said rules (current rules can be found on the VFW7907.info website). Once revised, they will be presented at a meeting for approval. Prayer List: see Chaplain’s input for details. Approved $200.00 from our Relief Fund in support of the VA Hospital tV Fund. Missing Man Table: We have collected approximately $530.00 to upgrade the dignity/respect we should be giving our POW/MIA. the total cost is $705.00. Please donate, if you can. Social Quarters: Redecorate (help always welcome). Guest Log: For “liability reasons”, all guests must sign in, including their sponsor name. An exception to this rule is when the Post is open to the public, such as for dinners and/or special events. In these cases, it must be clearly advertised as “Open to the Public”.
