From the Chief Guardian Dan ONeill, Tá na Tuatha ar a mbealach ( The Clans Are Coming) On the 26th of July, The Ancient Clan Ó Néill of Tyrone, in partnership with Cookstown and Dungannon Council, are running an evening of culture and entertainment at the Hill of ONeill in Dungannon. On the night, the Clan Ó Néill will talk about their plans for the 400th anniversary of the death of the great Hugh ONeill, who died in 1616 whilst he was exiled in Rome. The main guest speaker will be Dr John McCavitt, the author of Flight of the earls. Guests will include local politicians, community leaders, heads of local business, sporting groups ( GAA, soccer, Rugby ), local historical societies, schools ,NIEA , DCAL, Mayor of Dungannon and Chair of Cookstown Council, plus many members of the public. This is a real coming together of a community and the Ancient Clan ONeill of Tyrone will be inviting all groups to get behind them and make the 2016 event one of the biggest ever seen in the area. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Cookstown and Dungannon council for all their help in supporting this event. There will be a live internet feed on the night so we will be joined by our Ancient Clan ONeill branches in the States; Atlantic Branch Head Guardian & Intl Coordinator - Laurie ONeill Ries, Mid West Branch Head Guardian/ Vice Chief - Sean Paddy ONeill, Ohio Valley Head Guardian - Sean M ONeill, Pacific Branch Head Guardian - Bond Mac Eoghain.
