“From the Kennel: It has been relatively slow since my last post. We have celebrated several birthdays this month. Jimmy was home sick on his birthday with a leg infection which almost landed him in the hospital. He is on the mend thanks to antibiotics. It was also my brother Darrell’s’ birthday who left this earth way to early, give prayers to his family. My brother Dubb (oldest per some folks) also celebrated his birthday with a trip to the Casino. It was Max’s birthday as well. He had an Oakland Raider theme for a party. We went over to celebrate and have dinner. My sister Susan & Mel took Lori Morton, my niece Susan Weyh, Tyler Weyh and Alex Weyh to Hawaii for a week. No one wanted to come home to the cold weather. They were having fun in the sun on the beach and pool. Mel & Sue came home to a house that had lost power and a blown down fence. Fortunately the power came back before they landed and Mel tore down the remaining pieces of fence. Insurance & a few dollars will take care of a new fence. Charlie & I started a remodel project on a cabin belonging to Dave Cramer’s Aunt. It required ripping out all the paneling, reframing some structure, update the wiring and installing new heaters. We also hung 56 pieces of 4’ x 8’ x ½” sheetrock. The only casualty was Charlie slipping on the steps in the stairwell when hanging the sheetrock. It is almost taped & ready to shoot. We will then paint it, install all new light fixtures, plugs, switches and a new door. Once we get that done we will then tear down the back deck & install a new one. Then it will be time to replace the front entry door and replace the front porch. We allowed ourselves three months to complete all the work. I also completed my HVAC guy’s bathroom and will return to put in all the new electrical items when his contractor is finished. I also went over to a co-workers house & installed some new heaters for his kids who live upstairs. They had been using space heaters. He had actually pulled in all new wiring a couple of years ago but never finished hooking everything up. His little three year old girl entertained (helped in her opinion) …she was funny and never stopped talking. Mel & I had an opportunity to go to Competition Specialties and order my new exhaust system for my 57’….the store was like a candy store, but much more expensive. Ray has just about everything for my new motor…it is a once in a lifetime motor for me…Charlie & I will be doing some kitchen remodel for a friend of ours who also just returned from Hawaii (should only take about three hours)…Mel & Sue will be over on Friday to do a couple of things at his parents rental…Mary & I have to do some appliance shopping…we need to replace our dryer & washer…Hopefully we will be done in time to go watch the grandkids at the YMCA…the boys are like fish in the water and Hannah is doing really well also…We will start our bathroom remodel for Judy & Mike who just completed open heart surgery and is on the mend…lots of people needing help… Happy, Happy, Happy Another great retirement month
