From the Legislative Gazette: The New York is Home Act - TopicsExpress

From the Legislative Gazette: The New York is Home Act (S.07879/A.10129), sponsored by Sen. Gustavo Rivera, D-Bronx, and Assemblyman Karim Camara, D-Brooklyn, would make it legal for undocumented immigrants to vote, apply for professional licenses, serve on juries, run for public office and obtain a drivers license, as well as make them eligible for benefits such as Medicaid and college tuition scholarships. Gov. Cuomo cant run away from this issue, Lalor said. His party has introduced legislation in the Assembly and state Senate that would allow illegal immigrants to vote in New York elections, run for state office, and receive Medicaid and other public benefits. The governor cut a deal and is campaigning for Senate Democrats to regain a majority. New Yorkers should know whether he also stands with his fellow Democrats in supporting this extremist legislation. Do you want to let illegal immigrants vote, Gov. Cuomo? You cant stay silent on this.
