From the Pastor: There are phrases-slogans-that have been able to fixate in our memories and encapsulate what the product stands for. -“It’s the real thing!” (Coca-Cola). -“For those who think Young!” (Pepsi). -“I’m lovin’ it!” (McDonald’s). -“We try harder?” (Avis). -“It takes a licking and keeps on ticking” (Timex). If you could summarize Wedgwood in ten words or less, what would those words be? How would you describe what we are and what we are striving to be in a single phrase? For the past 25 years that’s been “To know Christ and make Him known.” This has been a wonderful motto and it is my own personal one as well. But this statement is too general. Every church ought to prioritize knowing Christ and making Him known. After weeks of prayerful, passionate discussion we have come to see that, at Wedgwood, God is working in us to: Experience-not just talk, learn or go through the motions. Christ-not just God, but the Messiah, the second Person of the Godhead. Together-this is a group project. We do it together or not at all. To Transform-what God touches He transforms-completely. Our World-our lives, our families, our city, our world. Learn the phrase. Teach it to your children. Discuss it. Live it. By the grace of God we want to-need to-”Experience Christ together to transform our world.” Reverse the curse! Make a difference! Fulfill God’s calling on your life. “Just do it”-Together!! In His love, Al Meredith
