From the ashes, a star is reborn! It has been an incredible journey since that fateful day in July when Keiths Ascari KZ1R caught fire in Townsville. As you will begin to appreciate from these photos, it was a near complete rebuild of the car after the incident, with rare replacement parts for the Ascari painstakingly sourced from all parts of the globe. A full re-wire of the car was expertly undertaken by Tony Devantier of TDv Autosport, with some new features, like wireless steering controls and paddle-shifts, being installed during the process. A fantastic effort by our Savy boys in rebuilding the Ascari from scratch - its not like you get to complete a massive task like THAT everyday! Its all the internals that you cant see in these photos, like the new custom-made fuel cell, wiring and reprogramming of the car to make everything communicate, that really eats up the time, but everyone handled the challenge superbly! Well done guys. :) We are all very excited (Keith most of all!) to see the Ascari ready for the final Australian GT round (the Highlands 101) on the 7th-9th November in NZ, and the boys are currently packing the car and gear into the shipping container as I write this update! Keep your eyes peeled for news on the Ascaris anticipated return to the track , where both Keith and co-driver Les will compete. #SavyMotorsport #OutboundRacing #Ascari #letsrace
