From the members Bulletin - This shows that HeritageWorks is a safe and progressive depository. On Tuesday August 19th we welcomed, with some trepidation, the team from Museums Australia Victoria to assess our suitability for the Museums Accreditation Program. This program is under Arts Victoria jurisdiction. The combined team from WDHS and WFHG must have been impressive as we came out of it with flying colours. Of course we have a mountain of work to undertake to get up to speed but we have begun the task. The MAV people were pleased with our collection methods and practices but we do need to do more work on our policies such as a disaster policy. We have been offered assistance from a range of sources and Flagstaff Hill’s assistance will be invaluable as they have already been through the process. HeritageWorks group would be the third organisation to seek accreditation in Warrnambool, as Flagstaff Hill has recently been reaccredited and the Warrnambool Art Gallery entered the program last year
