From the moment your atoms blasted out out of a supernova and journeyed across space to eventually become you, a story began that you are now a part of. Really, you have always been a player on this stage waiting for your moment in the spotlight. So, here you are acting out your role along with who knows how many sentient beings throughout a universe we havent even scratched the surface of. With our conscious minds we surmise an importance for our fleeting individuality that is defied by the observable nature of the reality we live in. As much as we attempt to try to decipher a meaning from our existence, the simplicity of the truth often eludes us. Poets, authors, and philosophers have struggled for centuries to articulate the beauty of reality and the seemingly contradictory manner in which we behave toward one another. Through art, song, and literature their works are the footprints of a journey to where now stand still searching for meaning and purpose in a universe that seems ambivalent to our well-being. Each of us is impacted by the rough terrain of discovering our humanity and the mistakes ourselves and others make along the way to that understanding. The pain that touches our fragile minds can make it hard to see beauty and wonder past the bias of our sometimes tortured hearts. It causes us to overlook the simplistic purpose for all we have experienced, both the pleasure and pain. To see beauty and to appreciate your somewhat insignificant existence dont dwell on the past or think too long about the future. To experience the most profound rapture, in spite of all the baggage we carry, stop thinking on what you will see when you open your eyes each day, and take a moment to appreciate the act of ever opening them at all. How do I feel? Right now, even through the pain I am grateful that I possess such a wonderful gift to know love through sadness, and to see beauty through pain. Yes,my pain will always be with me, but rather than let it taint my life and poison my mind, I can decide to let it serve to contrast the love I have found with those who have chosen to share their lives with me, and daughters who shine so brightly in my life they scare away the darkness with just one smile.
