From the perspective of someone who is homeless, I commend the efforts to come up with creative ideas to address the systemic problem of homelessness. Generally, I fall within the normal demographic of the homeless; male, veteran, isolated from family, with a history of mental illness. However I was once middle class with all the privileges. To say that I never thought homelessness would become my reality is an understatement. As the middle class continues to dissolve, more projects like this become important, because poverty is becoming the national norm. Of course I am idealistic because as the political pendulum continues to shift to the right, there is less empathy, compassion or political will to help the marginalized. In fact there is actually more of a move to criminalize people like me. I think tiny houses are a brilliant solution because by the time people become homeless, theyve abandoned the commodity fetish inherent in the American Dream,
