I just got the news that court workers will wear tomorrow black and red colors to protest the Presidents speech on the Supreme Court decision on DAP and the perceived threat to scrap the P1.7 billion Judiciary Development Fund (JDF). The court workers have all the rights in the world to express themselves and seek redress of grievance. The 1987 Constitution guarantees these rights. Unfortunately, they are not always right; neither are they always on the right side of history. During the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona, they held vigils, prayer meetings, masses, and mass actions in support of Corona, who was eventually removed by the Senate impeachment court. Far from their suspicious mind, there is no perceived encroachment on the judiciary, which is considered the weakest among the three branches of government. Congress has all the power to look into how the JDF is being spent. Its use has been a tightly guarded secret in the judiciary. I am inclined to believe that some sinister forces are manipulating these gullible court workers. They are proving nothing except their vulnerability to manipulation
