Front Row Motorsports AAA 400 Race Report Dover International Speedway, 1-mile oval, Dover, Delaware David Ragan, No. 34 Plimpton & Hills Ford Starting Position: 37 Finishing Position: 31 David Ragan introduced new sponsor Plimpton & Hills to the track known as the Monster Mile for Sundays 400-mile race. Expecting some Chase-berth drivers to take risks to avoid elimination in the final race of the Challenger playoff round, Ragan and his Front Row Motorsports team just needed to run their own smart race and take advantage of opportunities. Starting 37th, Ragan found his car to be a little tight getting through the turns of the one-mile oval. After climbing a handful of spots in the opening run, the team looked for opportunities to improve their car and gain some more positions. Pit strategy was part of the plan, using Dovers caution-prone history in deciding when to pit or not. But the yellow flags were atypically few, the race didnt see any multi-car wrecks, and Ragan was struck with a flat tire mid-race right as the field was coming to the green flag on a restart -- all factors preventing the No. 34 team from making more gains than they did. Still, Ragan advanced six spots from his starting position to cross the finish in 31st. Comments from Plimpton & Hills team driver David Ragan after the Dover race: The guys did a good job on our Plimpton & Hills Ford. We made some improvements over the weekend and made some good calls during the race, too. I think everybody was expecting it to be a little crazier, with guys going for broke to advance, but we actually saw a lot more green-flag racing than we usually see at Dover. I think we mightve made some gains in points, though, so well take that.
