Frustration causes harm! How often do you find yourself caught - TopicsExpress

Frustration causes harm! How often do you find yourself caught up in frustration at the wickedness of this world and those in charge advocating it? How about the injustices in your life and circumstances? As for me, quite often! I fret and fume, get angry and shout at the TV and wonder, are they ever going to open their eyes to the truth? The wicked get more wicked and seem to prosper at everything they put their hands to. Then I sit back and think, “Lord, this isn’t right! What are You going to do about it?” Oh, I’m so thankful He loves me, even with my frailties and shortcomings! When I’m fuming, God just smiles, because He knows my weaknesses and my shortsightedness. He’s still in control and He still knows what He’s doing. (Remember what I said here while back, “We live in this bubble called time, He lives outside the bubble in eternity. He knows our entrance and our exit and everything in between!”) In my latest rampage about injustice, He showed me what we needed to know. Just look at Psalms 37. Verse one, “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.” What’s He saying? Don’t get all frustrated over these people who keep getting it wrong and follow their worldly desires and devices. Why? Because, “For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.” (Verse 2) In other words, their day is coming! Just do what is right, no matter what the rest of the world does! Verses 3 through 6 go on to say, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord; And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.” He’s simply saying trust the Lord and feed on His Word and Faithfulness. In doing so, your heart will get in alignment with Him for righteousness and He will give you the desires of your heart. Not ungodly things, nor even riches or fame; because your desires will be on Heavenly issues, not worldly ones. Oh friends, there’s so much more to Psalms 37. I’ve just tipped the iceberg. These 40 verses in this book have so much treasure in them! Read it! Meditate on it! See for yourself! For now, let me just end with verses 7 and 8, “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm.” Don’t hurt yourself. Frustration (fret) causes harm: ulcers, nervous break downs, and high blood pressure! Just rest in the Lord, have patience and wait (I say) upon the Lord! Blessings!
