Fukuro no Mise, which translates to Owl Shop in English, is one such cafe in Tokyo. The shop has as anywhere from 20 to 30 birds of prey to keep patrons happy as they eat snacks and sip their coffees. Guests can touch, pet and even wear the owls on their heads during the one-hour session. Currently visitors of the shop must sign up for an appointment — and yes, line-ups stretch outside the shop. The cafe is part of a trend to bring in more exotic animals for patrons in Japan. Some, like Fukurou Sabou (also in Tokyo) and Owl Family in Osaka specialize just in owls, according to Kotaku. Each customer can only stay in the café for 1 hour max and the price is USD25 for a cuppa coffee or tea. Mind you, thats always quite a long queue of people wanting to patronise the birds café.
