Full disclosure: I read this in Glamour magazine, but I found it super interesting and felt compelled to share. Its the ultimate cath-22: We turn to social media for connection yet log off feeling lonelier than ever. Multiple studies have shown that those who passively use networking sites-browsing others vacation pics and reading friends post weekend recaps without chiming in-feel lonelier and more isolated. The good news? Carnegie Mellon University researchers found when people actively engaged in connectin with others by messaging, photo-tagging, or posting, their feelings of well-being increased and their loneliness plummeted. :) HAPPY FACEBOOKING! :)
