Fully funded PhD opportunity is now available at Queens University, Belfast, UK with an exciting theme. The scholarship will cover the entire tuition fees and an annual maintenance grant of about GBP 13,000 per annum for 3 years. Title: Development of a multi-scale coupling algorithm for enhanced capability of the commercially available FEM softwares Background: This project will aim to develop an algorithm based on the ESCM-CZM based coupling methodology to investigate as to how the core enabling technologies such as FEM simulation and MD simulation can be combined together using a coupling method known as ESCM coupling method to handle complex engineering design problems. A major advantage of the project will be to use the existing commercial licenses within the school such as ABAQUS to couple it with LAMMPS (MD simulation software) to enhance fidelity of a given engineering problem.
