Thanks Table Top Sale – many, many thanks to Carol for organising this event once again. Even though the event was not as well as attended as the previous one a magnificent sum of over £300 was raised for the village hall. The Coffee Morning at Kingfisher Lodge in celebration of Joyce Marshalls 90th birthday was absolutely outstanding in all ways – including the weather!! Joyce had generously requested that in lieu of gifts, donations could be made, to be split between the Church and Village Hall Funds. At the final count the magnificent total of £840 was received. Many, many thanks go to all who attended and gave so generously! What a wonderful community we have here in Fulstow! Thanks must also go to all who donated cakes and prizes, helped with the teas, raffle and stalls. Macmillan Coffee Morning held at Rose Cottage – a big thank you to everyone who supported and helped with this event. A magnificent sum of £341 was raised. Events this month My Big Fat Cowpat Wedding By Sayan Kent October 19th 7.00pm SOLD OUT!! If you have bought tickets please don’t forget you can come dressed as if attending a wedding if you wish. Hats optional ladies! The bar will be open. Social afternoon dates: 3rd, 27th and 31st October, 2-4pm at the Village Hall. Forthcoming events: Auction – the annual village auction will be held on November 2nd. Please inform Nigel of any items which need collecting (363749) FULSTOW’S TALK OF THE TOWN is back again!!! Show dates: Fri 14th, Sat 15th, Fri 21st, Sat 22nd November 2014. Ticket price: £17.50 per person – including an excellent meal and brilliant cabaret show. An ‘Over 60’s’ Christmas lunch is being organised on Sunday 7th December, 12.30 for 1pm - More details later. If anyone who can donate anything towards this lunch it will be gratefully accepted. More details next month. FOR SALE The village hall is in the process of buying new tables therefore the old tables are for sale at £10 each. These tables would be suitable for an office, as a workbench in a shed or use in a garage. If you are interested please contact Michael on 363686 to reserve one or more. You will be contacted later. Cross Keys The Cross keys is under new management. Steve and his staff welcome you all. Events are now being organised, two dates for your diary are: Friday 31st October - Halloween party with fancy dress and karaoke from 9.30pm. Saturday 20th December – Christmas Draw Night 9pm. It is only 25p a square for a fun night! Church News Thank you to all who helped in decorating the church for Harvest this year – the church looked beautiful! There is no service at St Lawrence’s this month (October 19th) but a Discipleship Sunday will be held at Grainthorpe at 10.30am. Remembrance Day (9th Nov) – An act of remembrance will be held at the Village Hall memorial at 10.50 am, followed by a service in the hall. The lunch afterwards should be booked with either Paula- 363694, Eileen- 363362 or Derek- 363629. The menu is either soup, melon or prawn cocktail, turkey or roast beef, apple crumble, trifle or cheese and biscuits followed by tea or coffee. Please book by November 5th.Tickets are £15 a head, under 14’s £5. News from Barry Wallis – I nominated 2 of the fallen from Fulstow – Private C H Kirman and Private T Wattam for the WW1 Roll of Honour ceremony at the Tower of London and was delighted to hear that they would be included at the ceremony on the 9th September. I was fortunate enough to be in London on the 9th and attended the ceremony. This ceremony was filmed and can be seen at https://poppies.hrp.org.uk/roll-of-honour.
