Fun Fact! I may be the only one who doesnt know this, I dont know; but did you know that America declared its independence in 1776. However, George Washington didnt take presidency until 1789, and that there are 8 prior presidents that got lost in history. Our first president was John Hanson. He created the US seal, organized and hired the first treasury and secretary of defense. Before the Constitution, The Articles of Confederation only allowed a President to serve a one year term during any three year period. George Washington was the first to serve under the Constitution, but was not the first president of the United States.
