Fun things the older generations did instead of playing video games and texting, etc.: Me and my cousins - ate breakfast (a real breakfast, cooked by an aunt or mom) - then pretty much disappeared until we got hungry - we explored the woods, rode bikes - a lot, and far - climbed trees (I always needed help), played baseball, went swimming, made up games, role played, played boardgames, I remember spending time in an attic with a door open at each end so there was a breeze, watching my cousins shoot rats in the barn hay loft from the other side of the hay loft (never met one up close and personal - but they were big), caught lightning bugs, and I remember stinging from laying in the grass watching the stars - the the sting didnt set in until I went inside - I think it had something to do with mind over matter..... And the food!!! Nothing from a foil container! Of course it took a while to clean up after supper - no paper plates, solo cups or plastic ware,,,or microwaves or dishwashers....or cable, or internet, or cell phones.... I miss those days ..... sometimes .....
