Even more than Methane coming from thawing tundra, Actinobacteria released Methane from all soils on land is the main threat in the production of Methane, a greenhouse gas that is already 17% of all greenhouse gases. Methane is 23x (at first) to 60x (after 9-12 years before destruction by the sun) the warming agent of CO2. Unlike CO2 (carbon dioxide), CH4 (Methane) works immediately to warm the atmosphere by trapping both long and short wave radiation.
