Funny; have you ever had to post a deposit when you are having your car serviced or an appliance repaired? I just had a Sony rep ask for a $200 deposit to examine and fix a lens I am having a little concern about. Strange way to do business. I have used their gear for several years and never forget to promote it wherever I go. They have treated me very well through the theft of my gear last year and it just took me by surprise. No loyalty spared. I knew the poor service guy and he did not know what to do. I just wanted it looked at and fixed.
