Funny reading generalised posts about how things were different growing up in the 70s and 80s. Yes things were different because we didnt have all the technology that we have now but in terms of the kids of today having respect etc let me tell you this. All 4 of my children know respect and what it means. They all politely ask to leave the dinner table. They dont swear. They are happy. Yes they play computer games but they know what is and isnt real and there is a balance between that and physical exercise. In fact I would also say that 95% of the children that i come across on a daily basis in my work are also respectful and well mannered and quite grounded. Its the other 5% that worry me and more often than not its not the fault if the children. Its the lack of common care from their parents that makes children what they are! Wake up you 5% and give your kids a chance in life. Teach them courtesy, manners and respect. Teach then right from wrong. Teach them to be good, giving, caring citizens. Its their future. Give them a chance. Its got nothing to do with times changing or things being different in the 70 etc. It has everything to do with us as parents teaching our children well. You have one chance at caring for your children. They grow up fast. Make sure that they dont grow up with the wrong attitude. Have a good day.
