Funny story... I remember going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve one time when I was little with my Grandma. It was at this church in Benicia...St. Dominics. It was this intimidating church, real big with a huge organ inside and a lot of stained-glass art on the sides. Anyways, at the midnight mass I remember falling asleep and my Grandma nudging me and saying that I needed to wake up and pay attention because the Pastor was talking about something very important. So a short while later, after paying a lot of focused attention to what the Pastor was saying, I whispered to my Grandma, Grandma what does that mean, what hes been talking about for the last few minutes? I looked over.......and she was asleep! :) Im not sure whats funnier from my church days...that moment, or...the fact that my family went to Spanish mass a lot in my youth (without being able to speak spanish). Im not joking. I liked it, though. Im not sure if it was the music, the portable ice cream carts afterwards, or the cute spanish girls in attendance (..:)..) but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
