Furthermore, while I remain a staunch supporter of the Obama Administration, I see events in Egypt as a foreign policy failure of the US Government. All other global powers follow the lead of the US in expressing concerns over major developments around the world and the choice of the Obama Administration to mince its words by putting up carefully worded diplomatic statements over the Egyptian situation set a bad tone to resolving it, thus culminating into the events of yesterday. Therefore, I would describe those belated declaration by President Obama to cancel the joint bi-annual military exercise with the Egyptian military as mere posturing.
