Futile World "For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly - TopicsExpress

Futile World "For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God.For the creation was not willingly subjected to vanity, but through the One subjecting it, on hope; that also the creation will be freed from the slavery of corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that all the creation groans together and travails together until now." Rom. 8:19-22 In the first instance here we understand that the creation is subject to vanity and futility until the coming of the Lord Jesus. This also has a cross-over effect in that the people of this world who are without God are also subject to futility, they are a part of this creation. In other words, this present world is futile. It is dead to God, it is subject to vanity and frustration: anything you do to try and improve the world is simply like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, it is as futile as that. So, God is in control over satan, and over the kingdoms of the world. Governments are not our enemy (Rom. 13) and God does much as a benefactor sending rain on the just and the unjust, and giving mankind what he needs to live, even in their rebellion. And God restrains the forces of evil from bringing total anarchy and destruction in the world. But after all that is said and done this present world system is doomed, it can’t be reformed or even preserved much longer, “it has the seeds of disruption within itself”, as Austin-Sparks used to say. So when Christians discuss politics or the world, the common agreement should be that there is no answer or solution apart from Jesus Christ. Let others rearrange the deck chairs, but we will warn people to jump into the Life Boat of Christ. Christ is coming TO TAKE US OUT of a doomed world under the wrath of God. Yes, we are “escapists” but we are not trying to escape from reality. The people who don’t believe this are the escapists, trying to avoid the reality of the Words of Jesus. Jesus is not restoring this world, He is going to judge it. The Church is called out of the world just like Noah and Lot. "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Gal. 6:10 Do what is right not in order to try and change the world, but simply in worship to God, and some hearts might be changed in the process, you might see some others join you in the Life Boat and escape the wrath to come. ~ ianvincent.wordpress/
