Particularly with Feathercoin as the hashrate (see next mention in our A-Z) is low enough to potentially make it profitable. Gaming rigs will usually be built around a decent GPU (graphics card) to drive decent screen visulisation and management of 3D environments. There are two major manufacturers of graphics cards, NVidia and AMD. The latter is often considered the better for mining purposes although benchmarks differ between specific cards. Whilst a PC is not being used it can be employed to mine FTC and make you a bit of digital currency on the side.
