(Grow Pray Study) Thursday 4.17.14 Passover Meal w/ Disciples – Jesus’ Arrest Matt. 26:17-75; Mark 14:12-72; Luke 22:7-62; John 13:1-18:27 Jesus and his Disciples have gathered to celebrate and remember that God saved his people from slavery in Egypt. They have gathered to celebrate, yet Jesus takes this opportunity to share the first communion and predicts that he will be betrayed and arrested. At any moment, Jesus could have fled to avoid the pain and suffering. We’re not called to save ourselves, but Jesus does call us to “pick up our cross,” and follow him. Does Jesus’s gift and sacrifice move you to follow? How? Do you wrestle with this ultimate gift? Prayer: King Jesus, you were not naive to the dangers or sacrifice you made. Give me a measure of your insight and continue to draw me closer to following you during this lifetime.
