The areas include strategic reserves, petrochemical conservation, research and development, refineries and energy efficiency programmes. 2. Deeper integration for peace and prosperity was chosen as the theme for the upcoming 18th SAARC Summit to be held in Kathmandu on 30 October 2014. The Summit is scheduled to be held on 26-27 November 2014 in Nepal. 7. India along with 20 other countries on 23 October 2014 signed an agreement to become the founding member of the China-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). 8. China in October 2014 overtook the US to become the world’s largest economy in Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) terms. This was revealed by the October 2014 update of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
